Hi! My name is Karen Fu (she/her). I am currently completing my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD). I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Music from the University of British Columbia and my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa. I have worked extensively with children, adolescents, and families across a range of clinical settings.

My clinical experience includes supporting youth experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma, as well as providing parent coaching to help caregivers better understand their child’s emotional and behavioural needs. I enjoy helping parents strengthen communication, build connection, and develop practical strategies to support their child more effectively. My therapeutic approach integrates Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based practices, and is grounded in a culturally responsive, strengths-based lens.

I value creating a therapeutic space that feels warm, collaborative, and validating. I believe in meeting clients and families where they are, honoring their lived experiences, and helping them build the tools and confidence needed to navigate challenges with resilience.

Outside of clinical work, I enjoy spending time with my dog, Maymay.
